The cosmos first became movement. Movement became matter. Matter became life. Life became sensitivity. Sensitivity became perception. Perception became consciousness. Consciousness became reflection. Reflection became art, philosophy, and compassion. Each stage is not a break from what came before, but another folding of the same universe into greater complexity.
